Check the Windows Installer Service
MSI packages are being installed by the Windows Installer Service. It is an installation and configuration service that is provided by Windows. So, let’s make sure the service is up and running
- Hit Windows Key + R.
- Type in “services.msc”.
- Hit OK.
Now scroll down until you find the “Windows Installer”

Now double click on it. The Windows Installer Properties window should pop up.

Make sure the start up type is either Automatic or Manual.
Click OK
Run Troubleshooter
The Program Install and Uninstall troubleshooter helps you automatically repair issues when you’re blocked from installing or removing programs. It also fixes corrupted registry keys.
However, you need to download it first.
Download: Windows Installer Troubleshooter
If you see the File Download box when you start downloading, select Run or Open.

When you see this screen just click Next

Scroll down the list and find the application you are trying to uninstall. Select it and then click Next.

On the following window choose: Yes, try uninstall and let the app do it’s job.
What it fixes
The troubleshooter helps fix problems that:
- Corrupt registry keys on 64-bit operating systems.
- Corrupt registry keys that control the update data.
- Prevent new programs from being installed.
- Prevent existing programs from being completely uninstalled or updated.
- Block you from uninstalling a program through Add or Remove Programs (or Programs and Features) in Control Panel.
